Nigel Barker
I was first introduced to Nigel Barker’s work through America’s Next Top Model. I grew up watching the show with my mother. Nigel Barker served as a judge and on certain weeks would photograph the girls himself. Before becoming a photographer, Nigel worked as a model. When he was eighteen, his mother pushed him into a televised modeling contest where Nigel made it to the final three. He then modeled for the next eight years of his life. While modeling, he practiced with lighting and technique. In 1998, he made the switch from modeling to photography. After opening his own workspace, Studio NB, Nigel was asked to be a photographer on America’s Next Top Model. He later was asked to be a judge and accepted. Nigel actually inspired me to try photography myself and not be afraid to be creative with it. Now, I consider photography as one of my strengths and hope to pursue a career involving it.
